Behind every DFD product is a simple idea: well-designed gear allows you to spend more time on the river. I grew up hiking, camping and fishing in Connecticut and Colorado, which strongly influenced the development of this philosophy.

As someone who makes fly fishing gear, I have a responsibility to help protect the environment.  By using repurposed waders, climbing rope and sail material in my bags, I can reduce waste. I want DFD to be part of the solution, not the problem. 

Deli Fresh Design evolved out of my desire to create a bag that suited my needs while fishing Colorado rivers.  Ultimately this led me to design packs to suit those demanding rivers.

In 2019, I spent the summer in the Catskills of upstate New York. This and many subsequent trips led me to move Deli Fresh Design to Roscoe, N.Y. in 2023. 

Steeped in fly fishing history and lore, the Catskills are amazing. This region is truly a dry fly fishing paradise.  I'm excited to see how storied rivers like the Beaverkill, the Neversink and the Willowemoc inform my designs as Deli Fresh continues to evolve.
